    Aclaris Therapeutics is committed to identifying, developing, and commercializing innovative therapies to address significant unmet needs in dermatology, both aesthetic and medical, and immunology. The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for field based medical and scientific initiatives that support marketed and pipeline products of Aclaris. The ideal candidate is a professional with strong customer focus who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The Medical Science Liaison will serve as the scientific liaison and educational resource between the external medical community and the Company. The position reports to Lead Medical Science Liaison- West (Medical Affairs) and will be based in field location.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Establish, develop, and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, academic centers, researchers and professional associations within cosmetic and medical dermatology. Aligns KOL relationships with the needs of the Company on an ongoing basis.
    • Provide scientific information and educational support to external medical community and internal teams.
    • Respond to scientific and clinical inquiries in a compliant manner that is consistent with the intent and application of Company policies and industry regulations.
    • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders within the Company and external clinical investigators for both the Company sponsored studies and investigator-initiated studies.
    • Provide feedback derived from external interactions to internal stakeholders. Provide ongoing analysis of clinical and market trends to develop supporting strategies to meet business objectives.
    • Support the coordination and execution of medical presentations relevant to the Company’s portfolio.
    • Represent the Company at scientific meetings and report back summaries to internal stakeholders.
    • Provide project support to Medical Affairs as needed, including assistance with Advisory Boards.
    • Support commercial operations by participating in Speaker and field sales training as directed.
    • Develop and maintain Aclaris product knowledge and stay up to date with emerging science
    • Accurate and timely documentation of activities and maintenance of expenses consistent with policies.

    Qualifications

    • Advanced life sciences degree: PharmD, PhD, and/or MD/DO
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required
    • Clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in dermatology is preferred but not required
    • Outstanding work ethic and integrity of the highest standards
    • Exceptionally strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively and collaboratively
    • Strong presentation, organizational, and planning skills
    • Must possess a thorough understanding of PhRMA code, OIG, HIPAA, U.S. FDA, and other ethical guidelines, laws and regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and its customers.

     

    Other:

    • Willingness to travel 65% of the time (ie, overnight travel)
    • Position will be field based within the Central territory
